Holden Fact No.36: Holden doors are not designed to stand up on their own. Holden Fact No.37: It takes 3 people to succesfully get a Holden door back on. Interior of Holden becomes 'music to the ears'. On the return journey to Wellington from Paraparaumu the band was able to experience the new sound of the Holden. The replaced seals/doors have made the Holden very quiet at high speeds of 50 and 60mph. Holden begins Botanical Garden's concert. As part of the Wellington concert series in the botanical gardens Uncle Monkey performed to a capacity crowd on a balmy Tuesday evening. To begin the show (and with the help of Travis Wood - stand in driver) the band made their entry in their Holden Kingswood. Carl get's 'Driver of the Month' for attracting $92 worth of parking tickets...and nearly leaving the petrol cap on the roof (again). Dean Webley gets runner up 'Driver of the Month' for jamming the Holden in 1st gear twice. Parking fiasco. The lads have been busy rehearsing and recording in Wellington central during January and there is just nowhere to park without spending lots of cash. So, the boys have been taking turns moving the vehicle around every couple of hours between the 1 hour parking spots. The Holden was featured in Uncle Monkey's World Tour calendar this month. The Holden turned 29 years old this month. Next January we are going to throw the Holden a 30th birthday party where all guests must bring 'something for the vehicle'. Start putting your thinking caps on now. Some ideas might be...polish, fluffy dice, spare petrol can (preferably full), a new dipstick, cellphone holder, CD player, a voucher for a 'wheel alignment', new front bench seat, interior carpets, yellow spray paint, rear door handle, new horn, oil, rear speakers, new hubcaps, alternater, motor, body and new chassis...
